Decision making:

the process of deciding about something important, especially in a group of people or in an organization.

It includes

a)  Entrepreneurship

 manager need to think like an entrepreneur in terms of quickly solving problems, thinking of new ideas that could move your team forward, and more.

b) Disturbance handler

 There will be disturbances along the way during any kind of work or task that involves more than one person. So manager should be able to resolve the conflict among team members or groups in the organisation.

c) Negotiator

 A manager needs to be able to negotiate with competitors, contractors, suppliers, and employees in a way that effectively serves the best interests of the organization.

Line Function:
            A "line function" is one that directly advances an organization in its core work. This always includes production and sales and sometimes also marketing.

Staff Function:
             A "staff function" supports the organization with specialized advisory and support functions. For example, human resources, accounting, public relations and the legal department are generally considered to be staff functions.
