They are three levels of management namely:-

* Corporate Level
* Business Level
* Operational Level

Before we use to address them as :

*Top Level
*Middle Level
*Low Level

CORPORATE LEVEL:- This level managers are responsible for controlling and overseeing the entire organisation.They should posses more PEOPLE SKILLS than conceptual and technical skills.

BUSINESS LEVEL:- They are responsible for executing organisational plans which comply with the company's policies.They should posses more CONCEPTUAL SKILLS.

OPERATIONAL LEVEL:- Supervisors and foremen are examples of this level.They have the responsibility of assigning employees tasks , guiding and supervising employees on day to day activities , ensuring the quantity and quality of production etc..


  DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:

KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge refers to familiarity with factual information and theoretical concepts.Knowledge can be transferred from one person to another or it can be self acquired through observation and study.

SKILL: It refers to the ability to apply knowledge to specific situations.These can be developed through practise.

All levels of management need the following skills:
 Conceptual Skills :- WHY & HOW
 Technical Skills :- HOW TO DO ? and I AM DOING IT.
 People Skills

MANAGEMENT AS A PROCESS:

Management is a process setting goals , planning , organising , leading and controlling of any type of activity.An organisation's senior management is responsible for carrying out its management process.
Planning , determines the objectives evaluate the different alternatives and choose the best organising , define group's functions , establish relationships and defining authority.The skills of influencing people for a particular purpose or reason is called leading.The functions of direction,motivation,communication and coordination are considered as a part of leading process or system.Monitoring the organisational progress towards goal fulfilment is called controlling.

FREDERICK TAYLORS SCIENTIFIC MANAGEMENT:

F W TAYLOR was the first to come out with the principle of scientific management.Proposed an objective and systematic method to identify "THE ONE BEST WAY" to do a job using scientific selection and training methods,co-operation and clear division of responsibility between managers and workers,pay for performance.
It is concerned for precise work methods and best way for jobs to be done.
